Welcome to the infra Bits and Bloops - yes, yet another techical blog, hooray! :) And yes, it covers familiar territory: DevOps, platform engineering, data engineering and infrastructure. But more importantly, this is my space to document what I build, what I break, and what I learn along the way. Think of it as a working notebook rather than a polished publication. Some posts will be deep dives, others quick notes - but all of them reflect real-world experience. And who knows - maybe it will turn into something bigger over time.

A bit about me - my name is Nikola Pajtic and I’m a computer systems engineer who started my IT career back in 2010 as a Linux system administrator - back when “it works on my machine” was still a perfectly acceptable excuse (it wasn’t). A few years later, I transitioned into DevOps, where I have been ever since - more recently blending into platform and data engineering, as well.

Over the years, I’ve worked with:

  • Linux: RHEL, Ubuntu
  • Web stack: Apache, Nginx, Tomcat
  • Databases: MySQL (Percona), PostgreSQL
  • Cloud: AWS
  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (we have a complicated relationship)
  • IaC: Terraform, Chef
  • Languages: Bash, Python, Go

Welcome to the blog. Hopefully you’ll find something useful - or at least mildly entertaining.
